Final Piece

Image
For my narrative and sequence module, we are looking at artists books, and how they can be presented. I've decided for my final piece to make an artist book in the shape of a fan, because I'm interested in historical society, particularly the Georgian and Victorian eras, and fans were an important tool for the higher class, because there was a hidden language in them.      In the 18th century, fans were a common fashion accompaniment. EVALUATIVE STATEMENT

In the narrative and sequence module I have created three unconventionally shaped wordless artists books. Inspired by Victorian secret languages and etiquette, I have made three dance card fans containing images that tell an emotive and romantic narrative with the use of symbols and patterns. I have been introduced to new methods of working for this project, such as sourcing wood and using the laser cutting machines in the fabrication department, I have gone back to digital art again for this module, but I can definitely see an improvement of my skills when comparing to my final piece from the Introduction To Illustration module. I managed to go to galleries as well to further my research...
